Manfrotto News Release
Ramsey, N.J. (October 22, 2009) – Manfrotto, a world leading manufacturer of professional photo and video support products and accessories, proudly introduces the 732CY, a carbon fiber tripod which joins the company’s popular M-Y family. First unveiled in January 2009, the M-Y family was designed to help first-time photographers achieve better results when shooting with their point-and-shoot digital cameras, lightweight DSLRs and compact camcorders. By introducing a carbon fiber tripod to the M-Y family, Manfrotto now gives entry-level shooters the ability to experience the benefits of carbon fiber technology without having to worry about breaking the bank.
Thanks to its high-performance carbon fiber construction, the new 732CY will boast the highest payload among its aluminum M-Y tripod siblings, with the ability to support a 7.7 pound payload. Additionally, the 732CY’s 100% carbon fiber tubes are constructed using Poltrustion, an advanced manufacturing process that maximizes performance, torsion resistance and reliability.
The new 732CY also features Manfrotto’s innovative Expander system, which gives users the ability to tighten the leg to the collar in order to maintain the highest performing torsion rigidity. The Expander system also allows users to remove a carbon fiber tube from the upper collar in the event that it needs to be replaced. This is highly beneficial especially if breakage occurs, as it allows users to replace just the tube, rather than changing the collar as well.
For ease-of-use, the 732CY features a new ergonomically designed upper aluminum die casting with spring-loaded rotating selector dials, which allow users to individually adjust each leg angle selecting from two pre-set positions. Redesigned locking levers also enhance performance and stability by ensuring a more secure lock, and make it easier for users to adjust the height of the tripod with ease.
