When Adobe announced CS5.5 a couple weeks ago, a couple of commenters on Photography Bay and/or its Facebook fan page expressed some frustration because they had just purchased a CS5 product. It looks like those of you who purchased CS5 products on or after March 10, 2011 will be eligible for a free upgrade to CS5.5.
Note, however, that Photoshop CS5 did not get the CS5.5 upgrade treatment. So, if you only have Photoshop CS5, then you won’t have to worry about paying for an upgrade until next year when it goes to Photoshop CS6.
Additionally, word is that pricing will go up for CS5.5; however, if you want to grab a CS5 product before April 27 and get the free upgrade to CS5.5, you can find them at B&H Photo, Adorama, and Amazon.com.
Kudos to Bryan over at The Digital Picture for digging up the details.
[…] PhotographyBay reported that the price of the newly announced Adobe CS5.5 could be going up on April 27th. If you have purchased the previous version CS5 on or after March 10th, 2011 you will be eligible for a free upgrade to CS5.5. That also means that if you buy CS5 by April 27, you can avoid the rumored price increase. Check all available CS5 purchase options on Amazon.
