Olympus has announced its new M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO lens for its Micro Four Thirds mount. The lens is an ideal complement to the OM-D E-M1 and equates to an 80-300mm field of view on a full frame camera.
The new lens is the first Olympus M.Zuiko PRO telephoto zoom lens. It features a dual linear Voice Coil Motor that powers two lens elements during focusing and is the first lens to do so. The lens is also weather sealed for protection against dust, water and cold weather. It has a minimum focus distance of 20 inches, a dedicated function button, manual focus clutch and a sliding, protective lens hood.
Alongside the new 40-150mm lens, Olympus announced a new 1.4x teleconverter, which extends the lens’ reach to a 420mm full frame equivalent at f/4.
The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO lens should be available in November for $1499.99. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
The new MC-14 1.4x Teleconverter will also be available in November for $349.99. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
