Beastgrip Pro is versatile tool for camera phone photographers and videographers that is part of new Kickstarter campaign and should hit its $50,000 goal by day 2 at this rate.
It is a custom rig designed not only for the iPhone, but for all camera smartphones, to attach a variety of professional photo and video accessories.
The Beastgrip Pro body is made of a durable nylon material. It features an adjustable mount for a variety of smartphones, including larger phablet devices like the Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 Plus. It has a grip for the right hand and features a brass lens mount ring, which accepts 37mm threaded lenses and conversion filters.
Beastgrip Pro also offers lenses and what looks like an exciting DOF adapter for pairing SLR lenses with your smartphones for a much shallower depth of field than otherwise capable.
The DOF adapter uses a Canon EF lens mount and a Canon EE-a focusing screen mated with a set of macro lenses. This combination allows the smartphone to capture the image off of the focusing screen, which produces the shallow depth of field akin to using a DSLR.
It looks like a well designed product that is already turning heads on its way to crushing the initial goal. The Beastgrip Pro alone requires a pledge of $70; however, you can bundle a pair of wide-angle and fisheye lenses with it for $105. The DOF adapter, perhaps the most enticing piece of the kit, runs $105.
All products have an estimated delivery date of August 2015. Check out more details here on Kickstarter.
