Word on the upcoming Nikon D5 has been slow ever since Nikon announced its development earlier this fall. New rumors (via Nikon Rumors), however, point to an updated AF system with 153 AF points (up from 51-points on the Nikon D4s). Additionally, the max native sensitivity is expected to get a boost to ISO 102,400 (up from 25,600 on D4s).
Prior rumored specs for the D5 included:
- New 20MP FX sensor
- 15 fps
- Body design similar to the D4s
- 4K video 60/30fps
- Full HD slow motion
As I’ve said before, I suspect that we will see/hear more around CES 2016 in early January.
Stay tuned.

It would be cool if the focus points were closer to the edges of the frame, rather than all grouped toward the center. Joe McNally has already been asking for it, so I know I’m not alone:

Agreed. With that many, surely we’ll see an expanded layout…
