Following the release of the firmware upgrade for the Blackmagic Production Camera 4K, Blackmagic Design recently announced the availability of Camera 1.9.7 software, which includes dashboard on screen menus and high performance disk formatting for the Blackmagic Cinema Camera and Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. The update is available for download from the Blackmagic Design website free of charge for all Blackmagic Cinema Camera and Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera customers.

Blackmagic has added yet another firmware update for the Production Camera 4K. The new Camera v. 1.9.5 update adds the ability to directly format an SSD to HFS+ or exFAT within the camera.
The firmware is currently being worked on for the other Blackmagic cameras. You can download the update for the Production Camera 4K here on Blackmagic Design’s website.

Blackmagic Design announced today that DaVinci Resolve 11 is now available for download from the Blackmagic Design website. This is the final version of the softaware after a beta period of just over a month. It is a free upgrade for existing users and the Lite version of the software is available free to all. Blackmagic has announced a firmware update for the Production Camera 4K to version 1.9. It includes new “heads up display” on screen metering that provides histogram, peak audio meters and recording time remaining.
Blackmagic Design has released another firmware update for its Cinema Camera line. The latest firmware update version 1.8.2 adds three new Apple ProRes file formats – ProRes 422, ProRes 422 LT and ProRes 422 Proxy.
The new ProRes formats can be captured on SSD drives or SD cards, and can be played back immediately on the camera. You can download the update for free here on Blackmagic Design’s support page.
