PocketWizard ControlTL Firmware Update
New ControlTL firmware is now available for Nikon and Canon versions of the PocketWizard MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 radio TTL triggers. The firmware update adds new features that include HyperSync Automation, SpeedCycler and Off Camera Power Control.
The updates are available to all owners of ControlTL systems via the PocketWizard Utility.

Canon (Still) Developing Radio-Sync TTL Wireless Flash/Camera
Canon has obviously been working on a new TTL flash system that works with radio sync triggering for quite a while now. We saw a patent application for a Canon radio-triggered flash and camera system in August 2010 and now, almost a year later, another Canon patent application that advances this tech has been revealed by the USPTO.

Sony NEX-C3, 30mm Macro Lens & F20S Flash Announced
The Sony NEX-C3 is a follow-up to last year’s NEX-3 and NEX-5 cameras. Based on the feature set and price point, the NEX-C3 appears to serve as more of a direct replacement for the NEX-3.
The NEX-C3 offers a 16.2MP APS-C sensor and captures 720p HD video. The NEX-C3 covers a broad sensitivity range of ISO 200-128000 and is capable of capturing images at a frame rate of 5.5 frames per second. [Read more…]
From Adobe Flash to iOS – Sneak Peek at NAB
Adobe showed off some of it’s cool new tech at NAB – streaming live video to the iPad 2 from Flash Media Server. Those of you developing content for the iPad and other iOS devices can take a look at the live demo over at Tech Tilt.
Sony HVL-F43AM Flash Announced
Sony added a prosumer-level external flash to its lineup last week. The new flash features the same “Quick Shift Bounce” rotation as found the the flagship HVL-F58AM flash. It has guide number of 43 and offers 22 increments of power adjustments between full and down to 1/128 power – all in 1/3 stops – and is powered by 4 AA batteries.
The HVL-F43AM is slated for release later this Summer for around $350.

PocketWizard MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 Available This Month for Nikon
Ahead of CES last week, PocketWizard finally launched the MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 for Nikon DSLRs. I’ve gotten a couple of emails asking about these, so yes, they should start shipping any day now. I got to play around with them a little at a pre-CES event and I can assure you they are working well with Nikon DSLRs.
