Instagram released an update yesterday that added 5 new filters to the available selection.
The new filters include: Sluber, Crema, Ludwig, Aden and Perpetua.
Additionally, you can now rearrange your filters and even hide filters that you don’t use very often. Just tap and hold the filter to be able to hide or move it. If you want to bring hidden filters back then tap the Manage icon at the end of the row.
The updated version is available now through the iTunes App Store and the Google Play Store.
Very good for Instragram! Finally, someone adds some truly useful additions to a social media app.
Granted, I often upload without using any filter and sometimes edit outside of Instagram (making use of PS Express more lately), but there are a number of filters I never use and have long wished I could get rid of them.
Very good improvements in my mind.
YES! Hiding and re-arranging the order of filters is a very positive step. It would be a logical next step if users could write and upload our own “filters” (styles) from PS or other editing programs. Some day, perhaps user styles (“filters”) could be shared among Instagram followers, groups, or even across the general user base.
