As we approach what is believed to be an August announcement date for the Canon 5D Mark IV, more details continue to trickle in.
The latest word from Canon Rumors suggests that “more than a few” Canon 5D Mark IV cameras are out in the wild right now being put through real world testing. While a number of specs remain unknown, a couple key video features have gelled as more concrete rumors, including internal 4K video capture and 1080p capture at up to 120fps.
It is still unclear whether 4K will be limited to 30fps or will go up to 60fps. However, as Canon Rumors notes, if the 5D Mark IV features a CFast card slot (as previously rumored), there should be no bandwidth limitation that would prevent internal, compressed 4K capture at 60fps.
Below is the complete rundown of the latest Canon 5D Mark IV rumored specs to this point.

This list is plausible, possibly what Canon wants floating out there to gauge the reactions of the user base. Assuming price is about the same as previous 5D models, I’ll likely be purchasing. Better low light would be nice, but improving noise in current levels would be just as good.

The feature list off listed here off course only covering the very basic’s still looks not a great step forward for canon…hope they can muster more innovation for folks to step up from 5D III and use cell phones that can do so much…. Wi-Fi connectivity will come at a price and given the file sizes, what can it relay offer. Certainly not down load but may be great for video streaming to tablet or cell phone assuming either one can become a AP
Lot to learn from Gopro and new comers into the wearable market and drones
I have written, in part on very interesting features that camera like this support but seems Canon are going to sell ya us all just a bit more than what technology allows now and repeat it again because we invested in the glass. Let’s see what “light” does when they truly launch their camera …That’s what we looking for from canon Innovation my friends like sensor array or more dynamic range from BSI , motion tracking, or even a smaller light weight DSLR and not the marketing of evolutionary product. If I can think and develop such products for people, Canon should be miles ahead of me..NO?

It really doesn’t look promising at all unfortunately. More dynamic range is a must simply to keep up with Nikon and Sony sensors (one and the same I guess). The video news is great I suppose – for those that shoot video – but for landscape shooters I’m not seeing much in the rumored specs that give much reason to get excited. Somewhat depressing really….

I’m sure it will be a decent upgrade from the 5D Mark III. What it won’t be is a video camera. The industry has yet to produce a DSLR with XLR inputs, built-in ND filters, not to mention simple things like peaking and zebra. On the other hand, I’m sure it’ll have a nifty pixel-binning 8-bit 420 codec.

I have no interest in video, frame rates higher than one shot every ten seconds, or ISO other than 100. So if they can’t come up with a sensor of at least 36 Mpix this thing is of no interest to me. Totally DOA at 24 Mpix.

I’m wondering why they couldn’t go to 8 fps when the 6 year old 7D had it. It wold make quite a difference for wildlife and sports. Once again 24 mp is not much of a jump after nearly 4 years. 28 would have been just that bit more for landscape shooting. A crop sensor mode would also have been nice. Even if it dod higher frame rate on crop mode would be great. Other specs look ok.
