The DJI Phantom can be a blast to fly and you can get some great aerial photos and footage. However, setup and configuration can be intimidating for those new to radio controlled systems.
One problem I recently encountered with a DJI Phantom ver. 1.1.1 was the repeated flashing yellow lights on a brand new unit. Supposedly, these ship from the factory with the transmitter and onboard receiver already bound together and you should be able to pull it out of the box, go through rest of the setup processes and start flying. Last week, we saw the terrible drone crash on Fox News that really got the hobby community stirred up with all the bad press it created. This news is much better.
In this fun video, 91-year-old Els Van Boldrik is flying a DJI Phantom drone in her garden with her dog Bill by her side. A GoPro HERO4 attached to the Phantom’s gimbal captures some cool footage of her (drone-selfie?) as it flies by.

The FAA has a new hashtag: #NoDroneZone
It released this awkward YouTube video a couple days ago to help designate the Super Bowl XLIX as a No Drone Zone, encouraging fans to leave their drones behind. I actually had to triple check that this came from an official FAA account, but it appears to be legit.
Specifically, the FAA has issued a Temporary Flight Restriction for the area surrounding the University of Phoenix Stadium from 3:25p to 11:59p MST.
On January 5, 2015, DJI launched 24/7 tech support for Inspire 1 customers via email or live chat. Telephone support remains a business hours option only.
For live chat and email inquiries, DJI says it will respond to tech support requests within one hour. The support page states that DJI is evaluating the service extension to other product lines, such as the popular Phantom series of quadcopters.
