For some reason, Pentax decided to release a white version of their new K2000 DSLR. While I find the Pentax K2000 to be a rather attractive entry level kit, I can’t quite recommend the kit in white – unless of course, you’re a Storm Trooper. If you’re still interested, the official press release follows. [Read more…]

Nikon Coolpix P80 Review at Imaging Resource
Imaging Resource has published a review of the Nikon Coolpix P80.
Exposure and color are generally good, but with low detail and sharpening artifacts mixed in with overaggressive noise suppression, even at the lowest ISOs.
Nikon Coolpix S610 Review at Cameras.co.uk
Cameras.co.uk has posted a review of the Nikon Coolpix S610.
There is some disappointment with my test shots taken at distance. So a lot will depend on the type of photos you take most of the time. For general portrait shots and other close in work this camera does a good job.
Canon Powershot SX110 IS Review at Digicam Review
Digicam Review has published a review of the Canon Powershot SX110 IS.
The Canon Powershot SX100 IS was almost the perfect pocket camera – it had almost everything you might possibly want from a camera, and managed to just fit in your pocket!
Panasonic Lumix DMC FX150 Review at Let’s Go Digital
Let’s Go Digital has published a review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC FX150.
Technical tests show some points of improvement for the Panasonic FX150. At first, not entirely unexpected due to the extremely high resolution, noise is visible as soon as from ISO 400.

Olympus E-30 Initial Impressions Review at Photography Review
Photography Review has published an initial impressions review of the Olympus E-30.
I have to admit I was skeptical and felt like they were probably meant for someone else. But when I started to play with the Art Filters, I got kind of excited at the some of the results. And the perfectionist in me was pleased that you can shoot RAW + JPG and have an untouched RAW image available if you need it.

Pentax K-m Review at ePhotozine
ePhotozine has published a review of the Pentax K-m (aka Pentax K2000).
It’s great to see Pentax fighting the corner of the user on a budget while other companies concentrate on higher spec models. For the money you will spend, the build quality is great, the colours are rich and the effects are enough fun to keep you occupied for a while.

Ricoh GR Digital II Review at Serious Compacts
Serious Compacts has published a review of the Ricoh GR Digital II.
Given that it features an f/2.4 lens and a 1/1.75″ sensor, I expected the GRD to perform well in low light. Overall it has met my expectations, although my impression from use is that the GRD sensor isn’t quite in the same league as the Panasonic LX3 and Canon G10 sensors when it comes to noise performance at high ISO.
Canon PowerShot SX110 IS Review at Cnet
Cnet has published a review of the Canon PowerShot SX110 IS.
Though it’s certainly a good, inexpensive megazoom camera, some aspects of the Canon PowerShot SX110 IS fall a bit short of its predecessor.
