Lockit Buddy Adds Time Code to HDSLR Footage

January 27, 2011 By Eric Reagan

Lockit Buddy is a new device that’s designed to bring time code into footage shot on HDSLRs like the Canon 5D Mark II and 7D.  The device works in conjunction with a standard time code source (e.g., Lockit box, camera TC out, etc.) and “uses the constant signal of the time code input to defeat the auto gain feature and produces an audio input free from the usual ‘noise floor’ artifacts.”

Lockit Buddy sends the camera’s reference audio to the left channel and the time code from your time code output device to the right channel of your HDSLR.  The Lockit Buddy runs $129.99 and is available for order on Lockit Buddy’s website.
