On Monday, June 6, WWDC 2011 kicks off in San Francisco with Steve Jobs on stage at 1PM ET. Of course, the consumer topics of iCloud, iOS 5 and OS X Lion are at the top of the buzz list; however, those who have been waiting patiently (or, impatiently for some of us) since the Final Cut Pro X teaser in April may not have to wait much longer either.
As the curtain was falling on the presentation at the Supermeet, we were told that Final Cut Pro X would be available for download from the Mac App Store in June for $299. I can’t think of a better time this month to launch the software than straight from the horse’s mouth alongside OS X Lion, which is also rumored to be made available via the Mac App Store.
Still, no official word has been dropped on what’s up with the other pro video apps in the Final Cut Studio suite. . . . Monday could turn out to be a rather expensive day for some in the Mac App Store.
