Sony NEX-3N Announced

February 20, 2013 By Eric Reagan

Sony NEX-3N

After plenty of leaks on the matter, Sony has finally taken official wraps off of the NEX-3N mirrorless camera. The NEX-3N succeeds the NEX-F3 at the low end of Sony’s mirrorless line-up.

The new NEX-3N comes equipped with a 16-50mm power zoom lens that allows you to zoom from the rocker switch around the shutter button or on the lens barrel itself. The camera is equipped with a 16.1MP CMOS sensor and captures full 1080/24p HD video.

Sony NEX-3N Key Features

  • 16.1MP Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor
  • ISO 200-16000 (still images)
  • ISO 200-3200 (video capture)
  • 1080/24p HD video capture
  • 3″ 460k-dot res tilting LCD (tilts to 180°)
  • 4fps burst rate

The Sony NEX-3N should be available in March at an expected retail price of $500. It seems that, for the moment, the announcement is only official in Europe – with US prices and release dates to be forthcoming in the next week. Check availability at B&H Photo, Adorama and Amazon.com.
