Lots of leaks in recent days for the upcoming Sony i1 smartphone suggest that it is just around the corner. Even before the phone’s official announcement, it is being hailed in some circles as the new camera phone king. If the rumors of the i1’s camera specs are to believed, that may very well be the case.

The latest Sony i1 rumors suggest that it will offer decent manual controls for selecting ISO, shutter speed and aperture. The sensitivity range of the camera is rumored to be ISO 50-12,800 and it is said to feature Sony’s Super Steady Shot image stabilization for a benefit of 2-3 stops.

On the hardware side, the Sony i1 is rumored to feature a 28mm f/2.0 lens and a 20MP 2/3″ BIS Exmor R sensor based on the tech inside the new Sony Cyber-shot RX100 II.

So yeah, if these rumors pan out, the Sony i1 is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the camera phone realm.
