Nikon 18–140mm f/3.5-5.6G DX Lens Announcement Later Tonight

August 5, 2013 By Eric Reagan

It looks like Nikon will take the wraps off a new DX lens later tonight. The Nikon 18–140mm f/3.5-5.6G DX VR lens is believed to be on the schedule for an official unveil with specs and press images leaking out ahead of the announcement.

The lens will feature 17 elements in 12 groups and offer 4 stops of Vibration Reduction. I suspect that this lens will find its way into kits of Nikon DX cameras – perhaps replacing the 18-105mm VR lens as the go-to wide range zoom lens that is common in those DX camera kits in recent history.

Additional products believed to be releasing later tonight include the entry-level Nikon SB-300 speedlight and the Nikon Coolpix L620 and S6600 point and shoot cameras.
