Wacom Introduces Windows and Android Tablets, Along with New Intuos Stylus for iPad

August 21, 2013 By Eric Reagan

Cintiq Companion

Wacom has released three new mobile products: the Cintiq Companion, Cintiq Companion Hybrid, or Intuos Creative Stylus for iPad.

The Cintiq Companion is a Windows 8 tablet that comes complete with a pen stylus that offers 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity. It is a full-on Windows 8 tablet that allows you to add a second monitor via Mini Display port or HDMI and includes USB 3.0 ports for external devices. An optional Bluetooth keyboard lets you treat the tablet more like a traditional laptop.

The Cintiq Companion features a 13.3″ full HD display, an Intel Core i7 processor, up to 512GB SSD, 8GB DDR3 RAM and several customizable shortcut buttons. The Cintiq Companion retails for $2499.

Similar to the Cintiq Companion, the new Cintiq Companion Hybrid is an Android device available in 16GB or 32GB flavors that works with Android apps and serves as a straight up Cintaq tablet if you just want to plug in to your computer. The Cintiq Companion Hybrid retails for $1599.

Finally, the Intuos Creative Stylus is a new stylus for use with the iPad. It offers 2048 pressure levels and allows you to rest your palm naturally on the iPad’s surface while using it. As a Bluetooth stylus, it connects with iPad 3, iPad 4 or iPad Mini – all of which recognize the palm rejection from the stylus. There are several creative apps already available with built-in support for the Intuos Creative Stylus. The new Intuos Creative Stylus retails for $99.
