Nikon 1 V3 Rumored for March Unveil

March 1, 2014 By Eric Reagan

We should see some exciting video gear in the lead up to NAB during the first week of April; however, there may be a few surprises on the still imagery side as well. One such still shooter is the Nikon 1 V3, which is rumored for an announcement this month.

The Nikon 1 V3 will continue the 1″ sensor trend and is rumored to sport an 18MP sensor (up from 14.2MP on the Nikon 1 V2), along with Nikon’s Expeed 4a image processor. Additionally, the camera is rumored to have an optical viewfinder and an optional 2.4MP EVF. The camera is also expected to have a 180° swivel LCD and an optional grip.

As has been the case with the top end of the 1 series, the V3 should feature fast frame rates, fast video (i.e., slow motion) and fast autofocus. Expect to hear more soon.
