Transcend Launches 4K-Ready UHS-I Speed Class 3 SD Cards

March 23, 2014 By Eric Reagan

Transcend Speed UHS-I Class 3 SD Cards

Transcend has launched two new product lines of SD cards with UHS-I Speed Class 3 ratings, which provide a minimum sustained write speed of 30MB/s. The higher minimum write speed meets the requirements of 4K video capture from existing 4K cameras like the Sony FDR-AX100, Panasonic Lumix GH4 and Canon EOS C500.

The Transcend SDXC UHS-I U3 and SDXC/SDHC UHS-I U3X “Extreme” cards deliver max performance of 60MB/s and 85MB/s respective write speeds. Both lines also deliver a max read speed of 95MB/s.

The SDXC UHS-I U3 cards (R95MB/s, W60MB/s) are available in 64GB (US$49) and 128GB (US$109) capacities, while the SDXC/SDHC UHS-I U3X cards (R95MB/s, W85MB/s) are available in 32GB (US$59) and 64GB (US$119) capacities.

They are not listed at retailers at the time of this post; however, you should be able to find them soon here at B&H Photo.
