Gitzo Launches Updated Mountaineer Series Carbon Fiber Tripods

March 24, 2014 By Eric Reagan

Gitzo Mountaineer Series

Gitzo’s Mountaineer series just received a substantial update with a refresh of the entire line. The new tripods feature Carbon eXact tubes with stiffer carbon fiber for maximum rigidity and image stability. The final leg section of the 4 section Series 1 tripod tubes is now 22.5% thicker than its predecessor. Additionally, the twist locks have been upgraded for better ergonomics and operation, while reducing dust entering the system.

A new Ground Level Set allows for quick removal of the center tube to get the tripod set up on the ground faster. The top column also locks with more rigidity and a new upper disc ensures more solid connection with the tripod head. These are robust, professional tripods that take the former pro series up a notch or two.

The new Gitzo Mountaineer tripods are available in Series 0 (smallest and lightest) to Series 3 (high end heavy duty). Check them out here at B&H Photo.
