Nikon’s Next DSLR a Full Frame ‘Action’ Camera?

August 12, 2014 By Eric Reagan

Nikon-D4S-I-am-coming-soon

The recently rumored Nikon full frame DSLR that’s expected in September may very well be a full frame sports shooter, complete with high frame rates and a lower resolution.

New rumors suggest that it won’t be a replacement for the current Nikon D610 and won’t be part of the D6xx line. Instead, the camera will be marketed as an “action” camera. As such, we would expect a better AF system than what we see in the D610 – and more along the lines of the 51-point AF system in the D810 and D4s.

A higher frame rate is also expected for an “action” camera – possibly in photos and video. Of course, if these rumors pan out, we’ll know more very soon.
