The Ricoh WG-30W is a new rugged camera that is equipped with WiFi for smartphone connectivity. It features a 16MP CMOS sensor and 5x optical zoom (28-140mm equivalent).
The WG-30W is deathproof with solid ratings for water, dust, freeze and crush resistance. It is waterproof down to 40 feet for up to 2 hours of operation, shockproof from 5 feet drops, freeze proof down to -10°C and crushproof against weights up to 220 pounds of force (I really want to test that last claim).
The camera also features 1080p video capture and it has a digital microscope mode with 6 LEDs around the lens barrel to illuminate macro subjects.
The Ricoh WG-30W is available in two colors, Carbon Grey and Flame Orange. It should be available in December 2014 for $299.95. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
