The camera is a Hasselblad 500c that was purchased by Wally Schirra at a Houston camera shop in 1962. He brought the camera back to NASA at it was modified by the US Air Force camera lab to include a 100-exposure film magazine, an aiming device mounted on the side and it was repainted black to minimize reflections.
