The Nikon AF-S 300mm f4 PF ED VR lens was announced this week at CES 2015, alongside the Nikon D5500. Unlike the D5500 though, the new 300mm lens is a pro-level lens that retails for $1999.95.
It is the world’s lightest 300mm full frame fixed lens, which you’ll believe when you hold it.The Vibration Reduction inside the new 300mm lens provides 4.5 stops of shake reduction. The lens uses Phase Fresnel optical technology to help correct chromatic aberration and also cuts down on the size and weight.
Focus and VR worked great in my brief hands-on time with the lens attached to a Nikon D810 last night. It looks like a solid addition to the pro Nikon lens lineup.
The Nikon AF-S 300mm f4 PF ED VR should be available in early February. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
