Close-up Look at Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II 5-Axis Stabilization

April 7, 2015 By Eric Reagan

What exactly is the image sensor doing when the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II is shooting in less-than-stable situations?

That’s the question answered by YouTube user Fredrik Gløckner in the above video. He mounted a Panasonic GH4 right in front of the E-M5 Mark II’s lens mount and shook it around a bit. It was surprising to me just how much movement occurs as the E-M5 Mark II shifts its sensor in attempt to stabilize.

Olympus is partly owned by Sony, so it could be Technology Transfer from Sony and Olympus could be paying royalty to Sony for every camera sale.
