Promise Technology recently unveiled the new Pegasus2 R2+ Thunderbolt 2 RAID Drive. It features 6TB of storage inside and is configurable as RAID 0, RAID 1 or JBOD (“just a bunch of disks”) setups.
The R2+ comes with a media bay with optional pods, including a small form factor 1TB HDD pod, SSD reader and SD/CF card reader pods. Each pod also has USB 3.0 connections for independent use outside of the Pegasus2 R2+ box.
It has dual Thunderbolt 2 ports (allowing for daisy chain operation) and USB 3.0 ports for connecting to your computer.
No word yet on pricing but the Pegasus2 R2+ should be available later in Q2. Watch for it and other Pegasus2 products here at B&H Photo.
