I reviewed PolarPro’s PowerPole earlier this year and it’s pretty awesome. However, as I said in the review, it could be better if it was waterproof. Now, Polar Pro has a product that does just that – the PowerGrip H2O.

Polar Pro has figured out how to make a grip that has a built-in 6700mAh battery and can power your GoPro down to 99′ underwater. The battery offers enough capacity to charge a GoPro camera six times over.
To make the PowerGrip H2O waterproof, Polar Pro has developed a custom backdoor for the GoPro HERO4, HERO3+ or HERO3.
Polar Pro also took a page from GoPro’s own 3-Way pole and made the PowerGrip H2O more compact with a folding design instead of a telescoping pole like the earlier PowerPole. Additionally, the PowerGrip H2O features a 1/4-20 mount on the bottom for attaching a tripod plate so you can mount your power source with your GoPro on a tripod for longer time lapse shoots.
Polar Pro managed to keep the price of the PowerGrip H2O the same as the PowerPole at $99. For the next day or so that the Kickstarter campaign is still up, however, you can snag one for $69. And the PowerGrip has already met its funding goal, so you can expect it to ship next month.
You can find our more about the PowerGrip H2O here on its Kickstarter page. Also, watch for retail availability on Polar Pro’s website.
