Sigma 20mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens is the Widest f/1.4 Lens Available

October 17, 2015 By Eric Reagan

Sigma 20mm f1.4 DG HSM Art Lens

Sigma has officially announced its new 20mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens for full frame DSLRs in Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts.

Sigma has been on a roll lately with plenty of firsts – the 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art and the 24-35mm f/2 DG HSM Art lenses come to mind. This latest lens expands the growing set of Art primes from Sigma as it joins the collection of Sigma Art series full frame, prime lenses that includes 24mm f/1.4, 35mm f/1.4 and 50mm f/1.4 options. The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC HSM Art lens is another new Art prime but is only available for APS-C mount cameras.

At 20mm, it is the widest full frame lens at f/1.4 that we see in any manufacturer’s lineup. Again, Sigma bests the likes of Canon and Nikon with what looks like another incredible lens.

Since Sigma has redefined its brand over the past couple years, we have seen hit after hit. And it hasn’t been just on the spec sheet that Sigma has been building hype, the performance of its Art line of lenses have gone head-to-head and often beat out comparable lenses from Canon and Nikon.
