This is the new Composer Pro II lens with the Edge 50 Optic, which is available for Canon, Nikon, Sony A, Pentax K, Fuji X, Sony E, Micro Four Thirds and Samsung NX mounts.
It is a 50mm f/3.2 lens with a 9-blade aperture and manual focus and aperture control. The lens is compatible with other lenses in the Optic Swap System.
It creates this incredible slice of focus that you can manipulate by tilting the lens any direction.
The focus and aperture rings are very smooth. It’s been quite a long time since I have used a Lensbaby lens and I don’t know that I ever used the first version of this lens. However, I was surprised at how easy it was to focus in the viewfinder.
It looks and feels like a very creative and fun option to add to your kit. It will definitely produce some unique images and it is, thankfully, much easier to operate than older Lensbaby lenses that don’t use the Optic Swap System.
The Lensbaby Composer Pro II with Edge 50 Optic retails for $424.95. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
