Watch this GoPro Camera Travel to the Edge of Space at Mach 5.5

May 6, 2016 By Eric Reagan

GoPro strapped a few of its HERO4 cameras to a 20-foot SL-10 rocket and sent them to the edge of space. The stunning video shows the rocket traveling up to an altitude of 396,000ft and reaching a speed of Mach 5.5 (3800mph).

    Hey Eric:
Quite a video! Are you & GoPro aware of the fact that “SMAST” of UMass Dartmouth is currently using GOPro cameras going in the opposite direction?

That is to say; that they are currently using several GoPro cameras in their under-sea fishery stock assessment experiments. They recently added several GoPros to their complement of very expensive cameras, & were very pleased with the GoPro cameras’ performance.

I had considered letting GoPro know about their work & after seeing this video thought I’d drop you a note as well.
