‘Peripheral’ is a Love Story Shot Through a Hasselblad Viewfinder

November 12, 2018 By Eric Reagan

This award-winning short film (embedded above) is a lovely three-minute story for photography geeks featuring an iconic camera.

It was shot using a Sony a7s with the Voigtlander 21mm f/4 Color Skopar through the viewfinder of a Hasselblad 500c/m. It is “[a] short story about how constantly looking to make that next great photograph can cause you to loose [sic] touch with whats around you.”

I think most photographers, at some point, can relate to the some of the looks the photographer in the film receives from his love interest.

Unfortunately, Corrina Van Hamlin, the film’s female lead passed away in July following a sudden stroke. She was an active part of the Lansing, MI arts community and “left a legacy of love.”
