After Canon released the EOS R, it followed up with the more affordable, entry-level Canon EOS RP, which has proven a popular release.
According to multiple rumors from Nikon Rumors, Nikon is primed to introduce an upcoming affordable Z-series model (perhaps the Z1 or Z5) to complement the higher-end Nikon Z6 and Z7. And recent rumors suggest the mid-range model may be in the $900 range. Although, the speculation ranges up to the equivalent of $1700.
If manufacturers are ready for mirrorless cameras to take over the Rebel and Nikon DX lines, we’re going to have to see some lower-end models fill up the ranks (and possibly even some more affordable APS-C format cameras).
