The Nikon Coolpix P6000 is a good camera in its own right, but doesn’t quite cut the mustard when compared to its main rivals, the Canon PowerShot G10 and Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3.

Ken Rockwell has posted a review of the Canon G10.
The G10 is the best compact digital camera I’ve ever used. The gotcha words are “digital” and “compact.” Maddeningly, like all other compact (non-interchangable lens) cameras, the G10 still takes too darn long to adjust or change anything.

Even though Sony has continuously failed to deliver the review copy of the A900 that was promised to Photography Bay (and yes, I’m slightly bitter), I will remain unbiased* and pass along that PopPhoto had no trouble getting theirs and has published a review of the Sony A900.
For an experienced photographer not married to another brand’s system, the A900 deserves a look. If you have even a modest stockpile of Konica Minolta lenses, then it demands your attention.

Digital Camera Info has posted a review of the Canon 50D.
The 50D is a solid performer, but didn’t outshine the alternatives. If you’re already a Canon user, possibly moving from entry- to mid-level SLRs, and with a lens or two already in your hands, then it could be a good choice for you.

Luminous Landscape has published a comparative review of the Nikon P6000 and Canon G10.
The net of this comparison is that while the Nikon P6000 is a fine little camera, it finds itself in the unfortunate position of being released at the same time as the Canon G10, which it would appear is an attempt by Canon to produce a full-featured pocket camera with the highest quality that they are capable of.

Digital Camera Info has posted a review of the Fujifilm FinePix F60fd.
Image noise and white balance performance are issues critical shooters will notice, but the camera’s pokey response will be obvious to anyone, particularly if you’re trying to take a sequence of shots in rapid succession.

Photo Review has published a review of the Nikon P6000.
Test shots taken with the review camera were bright and ‘punchy’ with the elevated contrast and saturation that typifies many small-sensor digicams. Exposures were pitched to record shadow detail so many shots taken in bright sunlight had blown-out highlights.

Cnet has posted a review of the Canon G10.
The Canon PowerShot G10 is a solid enthusiast digital camera for those who want something compact to complement a dSLR.

Neocamera has posted a review of the Nikon Coolpix P80.
As long as ISO is kept low, this camera captures accurate colors and its automatic white-balance system is above average.

PhotographyBLOG has published a review of the Canon PowerShot G10.
The G10 is undoubtedly the best ever Canon G-Series camera, and is a serious alternative to both an entry-level DSLR and other similar compacts (most notably the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 and the Nikon Coolpix P6000).
We’ll have more news and reviews as they come in at Photography Bay’s Canon G10 Reviews and Resources.
