Canon PowerShot E1 Review at PhotographyBLOG

November 6, 2008 By Eric Reagan

PhotographyBLOG has published a review of the Canon PowerShot E1.

The soft curves and the fashionable colours may indeed work with kids and teens, but the whole point of a stylish camera is compromised by the poor build quality and the use of low-grade materials.

Canon 50D Reviews at Imaging Resource and Let’s Go Digital

November 4, 2008 By Eric Reagan

New reviews up for the Canon 50D:

Imaging Resource

So while the 40D is great, and will remain in the market, the Canon 50D incorporates plenty of enhancements worth the couple-hundred extra bucks. The Canon 50D is an excellent digital SLR.

Let’s Go Digital

It is an all-round DSLR camera for the enhanced hobby photographer who can deal with any branch of photography with this camera.

Canon Powershot A1000 IS Review at Cameras.co.uk

November 4, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Cameras.co.uk has published a review of the Canon Powershot A1000 IS.

If you are not worried whether or not your camera will slip into a pocket then the Canon Powershot A1000 IS provides good value for money. It takes a decent shot in most situations and offers a few extra features over and above more basic digital cameras.

Canon G10 and Nikon P6000 – Head to Head . . . Again

November 1, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Earlier this week, Luminous Landscape pitted the Canon G10 against the Nikon P6000. Now, PhotographyBLOG has done the same thing – with the same results.

The Nikon Coolpix P6000 is a good camera, but the Canon PowerShot G10 is better – it’s as simple as that.

Olympus FE-20 Review at Cameras.co.uk

October 31, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Cameras.co.uk has published a review of the Olympus FE-20.

Despite the small optics picture quality is surprisingly good in most snapshot situations, especially when the subject is not too far away from the camera.

Canon 50D Review at DP Review

October 31, 2008 By Eric Reagan

DP Review has published a full review of the Canon 50D.

Below ISO 1600 image output is clean with well balanced contrast and colors and as you would expect from a DSLR with a 15 megapixel sensor the 50D delivers a fair amount of detail.

Nikon P6000 Review at PhotographyBLOG

October 31, 2008 By Eric Reagan

PhotographyBLOG has published a review of the Nikon P6000.

The Nikon Coolpix P6000 is a good camera in its own right, but doesn’t quite cut the mustard when compared to its main rivals, the Canon PowerShot G10 and Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3.

Canon G10 Review by Ken Rockwell

October 30, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Ken Rockwell has posted a review of the Canon G10.

The G10 is the best compact digital camera I’ve ever used. The gotcha words are “digital” and “compact.” Maddeningly, like all other compact (non-interchangable lens) cameras, the G10 still takes too darn long to adjust or change anything.

Sony Alpha 900 Review at Popular Photography

October 30, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Even though Sony has continuously failed to deliver the review copy of the A900 that was promised to Photography Bay (and yes, I’m slightly bitter), I will remain unbiased* and pass along that PopPhoto had no trouble getting theirs and has published a review of the Sony A900.

For an experienced photographer not married to another brand’s system, the A900 deserves a look. If you have even a modest stockpile of Konica Minolta lenses, then it demands your attention.

Canon 50D Review at Digital Camera Info

October 30, 2008 By Eric Reagan

Digital Camera Info has posted a review of the Canon 50D.

The 50D is a solid performer, but didn’t outshine the alternatives. If you’re already a Canon user, possibly moving from entry- to mid-level SLRs, and with a lens or two already in your hands, then it could be a good choice for you.
