Pentax K-7 Sensor To Be Modified Prior to Release
Amateur Photographer dropped the word today that Pentax is modifying the sensor of the Pentax K-7 prior to its production release. I guess all those “reviews” and “previews” on the topic of image quality just became moot (or, “moo” as Joey would say).

Pentax K-7 Review at Wired
Wired has posted a review of the Pentax K-7.
It’s svelte, sturdy, fairly easy to operate, has a great range of available lenses and a feature set that’s unmatched at this price. Think of it as a solid double with an RBI.

Pentax K30D Update
The Pentax K30D rumors still have hope after the recent release of the Pentax K-7, which many assumed would serve as a replacement for the Pentax K20D. Amateur Photographer, however, has confirmed with Pentax UK that the K-7 is not a replacement for the K20D. The K-7 and K20D are both current models, which leads to the logical question: when is the Pentax K30D going to surface?

Pentax K-7 Hands-On Preview at OK Pentax
OK Pentax has posted a hands-on preview of the Pentax K-7.
I’m happy to say that to my satisfaction the new SAFOX VIII Plus auto focusing system is now more accurate and speedy, especially indoors and with artificial light. And yes, the Face Detection feature works just as you’ve come to expect it on point-and-shoots.

Pentax K-7 Hands-On Review at Demystifying Digital
Demystifying Digital has posted a hands-on review of the Pentax K-7.
Though I can’t pass any official judgment on the still images or the video quality because of the camera’s pre-production status, I have to say I was impressed with what I saw even from this early version of the K-7.

Pentax X70 Review at Digital Camera Review
DCR has posted a review of the Pentax X70.
Most ultrazooms are running at this same price point, and most have fared considerably well on this site, but the X70 is a great camera that offers a lot of control similar to a DSLR. Not only can the X70 take you from extreme wide-angle to super telephoto with one lens, it does so with the ability to take control of nearly every aspect of shooting.
