Along with the new A900, Sony also delivered news of the previously leaked 70-400mm F4-5.6 and Carl Zeiss 16-35mm F2.8 lenses. The new 70-400mm lens is priced at $1500. The Zeiss 16-35mm lens is priced at $1800. Both will be available in January 2009.

After months of anticipation building among Sony Alpha followers, today Sony officially announced the 24 megapixel A900 DSLR. For the moment, Sony stands alone atop the megapixel hill of DSLRs.
The DSLR-A900 body will be available in November for about $3,000.

Let’s Go Digital has posted a review of the Sony Cybershot DSC-W170.
The Sony Cybershot W170 is a pleasant camera to work with. It’s a pity that the image quality did not appear clearly from a technical point of view in a number of situations. This is not a camera for the evening or in difficult light circumstances; it is a good-weather model.

Steve’s Digicams has posted a review of the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10.
What the it lacks in size, it makes up for in performance. On start up it is able to capture its first image in less than 2 seconds, great for having the 10x zoom to contend with. There is virtually no shutter lag when the camera is pre-focused, and just 2/10 of a second when allowing the auto-focus to run.

Several ad spots for the Canon EOS 7D surfaced around the forums today. Unfortunately for those of you itching to see what’s next from Canon, they look to be faked mockup ads. Good Photoshop work though if they are fake.
As an aside, I’m not sure why Canon’s tag line would be “Delighting You Always.” (Keep the comments PG.)
