Ricoh PX Rugged/Waterproof Compact Camera Announced

The Ricoh PX is a new compact camera that sports a 16MP image sensor, a 5x optical zoom (28-140mm equivalent) and a 2.7-inch LCD. It is waterproof down to 3 meters and can handle being dropped from 1.5 meters.  Additional features include 720p video capture and a sensitivity range of ISO 100-3200.

Ricoh has also announced several colorful silicone covers to add more style and protection options to the rugged shooter.

No word on price or release dates yet.  Check availability on Amazon.com.

    Looks nice, pocketable and simple. F3.9 – F5.4 Will this aperture range be acceptable with so many other camera makers going for fast compacts..? Also a 16MB sensor, how big is it..?
