Low resolution images of the obligatory PowerShot compact camera updates appear to have leaked out.
The PowerShot SX150 HS should serve as a replacement for the current PowerShot SX130 HS. The SX150 HS will upgrade to a 14.1MP sensor (from 12.1MP on the SX130) and will keep the same 12x zoom range – or so it appears.
The PowerShot ELPH 310 HS looks to upgrade the 12.1MP ELPH 300 HS. The new 310 HS is likely to include a similar bump in resolution up to 14.1MP, but also appears to take a significant jump in zoom range (from 5x in the 300 HS) to an 8x optical zoom lens.
Both models appear to feature Canon’s Image Stabilization, which became standard on “HS” models earlier this year, as well as HD video capture.
Expect more point and shoot PowerShot models to be announced alongside these. Based on the naming conventions, I think it is likely to expect a Canon PowerShot ELPH 510 HS and/or an ELPH 110 HS.
Of course, I’ll have the complete details for you when the cameras are officially unveiled (likely) later this week.
