Nikon D800 at 36MP Rumor

October 3, 2011 By Eric Reagan

Japanese camera blog, Digicame-info, posted a rumor of an October announcement for the Nikon D800.  In the brief spec rundown, it is claimed that the D800 will feature a full frame 36MP image sensor, 4fps image capture and 1080p video capture.

This rumor is a little out of the blue, so take it with a healthy measure of salt.  All other signs and predictions have indicated no new Nikon DSLRs ’til next year.

36 MP is what you get if you scale the D7000 sensor up to FX size. I’ll take one of those. Supersize Me!

36MP? My computer is slow enough with 18MP image files!
