B&H now has the Vello BG-N7 battery grip available for the Nikon D800 and D800E for only $90. I had previously tested the Vello grips for the Canon 5D Mark II and 7D, and found them to be solid performers – especially considering the price. Check out the Vello grip for the D800 here at B&H Photo.
There’s nothing better than owning genuine Nikon equipment for Nikon owners, but when we’ve emptied our wallets to buy the D800 and the best lenses, Nikon owners would love to have a great third party accessory that’s every bit as good as Nikon’s design and quality. It would be great if this grip’s electronics are fully compatible with the D800’s. Secondly, it would be just as great to have an accurate reading of the Vello grip’s battery’s strength in the D800’s menu. Any tested findings on these two points? Thanks!
