Canon PowerShot SX280 HS Compact Superzoom Unveiled

March 21, 2013 By Eric Reagan

Canon SX280 HS

Canon has announced the new PowerShot SX280 HS camera, which sports a 12.1MP CMOS sensor with DIGIC 6 image processor and a 20x optical zoom. The camera is still small enough to be considered a compact camera, yet it offers a powerful zoom range equivalent to 25-500mm.

Additionally, the SX280 HS features WiFi connectivity using the free Canon CameraWindow app for Android and iOS devices. A high speed burst mode allows the camera to capture images at up to 14fps. The SX280 HS also captures 1080p full HD video and features a built-in GPS receiver.

The SX280 HS should be available in April 2013 for $329.99 retail. Check it out here at B&H Photo, Adorama and Amazon.com.
