Sony RX100M2 to Improve the Already-Excellent RX100

June 17, 2013 By Eric Reagan

Sony-RX100-replacement

Several leaks and rumors point to a refresh of the excellent Sony RX100 (read my RX100 review) coming later this month. According to a leak of the RX100M2 manual, the camera will feature a hot shoe for attaching speedlights or other accessories and a tilting LCD screen. Additionally, the RX100M2 should feature the same 1-inch, 20.2MP CMOS sensor as is found in the current RX100.

Additional specs include:

  • 3.6x zoom (28-100mm equivalent)
  • ISO 100-12800
  • Full 1080 HD Video (AVCHD at 60p/60i/24p)
  • 3-inch LCD at 1.228M-dot res
  • Wi-Fi built-in

Expect an announcement on the RX100M2 June 27.
