The Samsung WB2200F is a bit of a head scratcher. At a time when camera makers are packing longer zoom ranges into smaller camera bodies, Samsung has taken the opposite approach and made the WB2200F as a 60x superzoom with an integrated vertical grip.
While the camera feels nice in hand, that’s from picking it up off the table and not carrying it around all day. It is the size of a DSLR but still packs in a point-and-shoot sized image sensor. Of course, the small sensor enables the compact lens to reach a 60x zoom range, which would be impossible in this size for a DSLR and its larger sensor.
Samsung added NFC and WiFi to the WB2200F, which has become common among Samsung cameras lately. The camera features a 16MP backside illuminated sensor and captures 1080/30p HD video. The WB2200F retails for $449. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
