Along with the new URSA production camera, Blackmagic also announced an exciting Studio Camera version of its popular BMCC line.
The Blackmagic Studio Camera features a Micro Four Thirds mount and 12.48mm x 7.02mm sensor (roughly a 3x crop fact0r). It is available in two versions – one at HD resolution (for $1995) and one at 4K resolution (for $2995).
The Blackmagic Studio Camera features a large and bright 10” viewfinder, built-in battery with 4-hour runtime, talkback, tally indicators, balanced XLR inputs with phantom power and built-in optical fiber and SDI connections.
The HD camera captures 1080/60p with 1 x 3G-SDI 10-bit 4:2:2 output, while the 4K model captures 2160/60p and offers 12G-SDI output for 4K capture to an external device. The camera has no built-in recorder option; however, a Hyperdeck Shuttle can be attached for on-location recording.
The HD version of the BMSC should begin shipping this month, while the 4K version should begin shipping in July. Check out it out here at B&H Photo.
Geat camera! For sure it is better to get the 4K model. It will last longer.
