Fuji Unveils Teleconverter for X100 and X100s

April 17, 2014 By Eric Reagan

TCL-X100_Black

Fuji has announced the TCL-X100 teleconverter for the fixed lens X100 and X100s cameras. The cameras have a 23mm lens, which is equivalent to a 35mm field of view on a full frame camera. The new TCL-X100 teleconverter is a 1.4x converter, which changes the focal length to 33mm, or 50mm in a full frame equivalent.

The TCL-X100 requires a firmware update to the cameras (ver. 2.10 on the X100; ver. 1.20 on the X100s), which allows the teleconverter to be selected as a lens option in the camera menu. The converter is designed to work with both the optical viewfinder and the electronic viewfinder. When using the OVF, the edges of the frame are displayed and the EVF gives a 100% field of view.

TCL-X100_Silver

The TCL-X100 is available in black or silver to match the finish of the X100 and X100s cameras. It will ship in May 2014 for $349.99. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
