It looks like the Canon EOS M cameras will be getting a new lens in the next few days. The Canon EF-M 55-200mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM lens has leaked out and should be released soon.
The lens features an aspherical element, along with a UD element. It is 22% shorter than the comparable EF-S 55-250mm IS STM model and 31% lighter at 260g. The built-in image stabilization provides 3.5 stops of shake reduction. It also allows full time manual focus.
Whether Canon will release the lens for the US market is unknown at this time (since Canon completely skipped the US with the EOS M2); however, we should know soon enough.
