PrimeCircle has unveiled a pair of new HDMI port protectors for the Panasonic GH4 and the Sony A7 Series.
The LockPort line is already available for the Canon 5D Mark III, 7D, Nikon D800 and Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera lines. The LockPort A7 and LockPort GH4 models provide a universal clamp and smart micro to full-size HDMI adapter.
The LockPort is designed to save the micro HDMI port on the camera from expensive repairs. Adding a full-size HDMI adapter allows for the use of stronger standard cables.
The LockPort also relocates the HDMI port to the rear of the camera and is integrated with a low profile base plate that works with other plates, heads and rigs.
No word yet on official pricing or availability; however, it should be in the neighborhood of $130 to align with LockPort pricing for other camera models. More details here on the LockCircle website.
Ken says
That relocator looks like it might impede on the full opening of the Pansonic articulating LCD no?
Marcel says
I think that if you use an HDMI device you would not use the screen anymore except maybe for recording only.
