It looks like Sigma is about to announce a new 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM lens in its Sports line.
Tamron recently introduced a new 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC lens, which bests the range of Sigma’s current 150-500mm lens. With the wave that Sigma is riding now that it has produced hit after hit, look for the new Sigma 150-600mm model to be a solid performer.
While rumors put the price around $2000, the Tamron model is $1069, which matches the retail price of Sigma’s existing 150-500mm lens. Accordingly, $2000 might be a little on the high side based on recent pricing trends from Sigma and where the competition is at for this zoom range.
