Travel tripods for still photography are quite popular. Nearly every major brand has its own version. However, travel tripods for video use are a rare find. Benro has announced a pair of new video tripods available in travel sizes – the Aero 2 and Aero 4.
Both tripods feature unique flat base video head; however, the column still features a bowl-type level design for the fast leveling that video shooters are accustomed to.
Additionally, both tripods can be converted into a monopod, which further extends the travel efficiency in this new family of tripods.

Well, that timing couldn’t have been worse for me…
Recently replaced my original Benro twist-lock travel tripod with a Benro flip-lock tripod (A1580F) because my hands were tired of the twist locks and honestly they started taking too long to setup/breakdown while on-location. The legs were not as “reliable” as they had been years ago and took a really hard twist to secure the lock.
Likely would have purchased the Aero 4 – it’s a perfect tripod for what I was originally looking for. Will have to considering buying that vs. the flat base video head setup with a leveling base…
