RØDE has announced its new Stereo VideoMic X, which features acoustically matched true-condenser capsules and the option for balanced XLR output. It is designed to be the central piece of single-system audio camera configurations.
The new Stereo VideoMic X uses high-end components along with an aluminum body and integrated Rycote Lyre multi-axis shock mounts. It has both a 3.5mm stereo output and a balanced output via mini XLR, which can be used simultaneously.
The mic has a three-stage high pass filter at 0/75/150Hz and a three-stage level control at -10/0/+20dB. It also has a frequency boost designed to help pick out high frequency detail, such as voices, and combats high frequency loss experienced with the use of wind protection.
The Stereo VideoMix X is powered by a 9v battery or by the P48 phantom power standard via XLR connection.
The RØDE Stereo VideoMic X runs $799 and should be available in November. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
